Of course you can.

If you do not plan to pursue a show career or professional breeding, that does not mean you cannot buy a beautiful Xoloitzcuintli.

Your dog can simply live with you as a beloved member of the family, go for walks, travel with you, sleep beside you, receive lots of love and be your companion — and never attend a single dog show.

But there is one important point I am asked about very often.

“If I don't plan to show, will the puppy be cheaper?”

No.

The price of a puppy does not depend on whether the future owner plans to attend dog shows.

The puppy's class is determined by the puppy itself and by my evaluation as a breeder.

I look at structure, type, proportions, head, bite, movement, development, conformity to the breed standard and overall potential.

This is what determines how I classify a puppy and what future I see for it.

So this does not work as:

“I don't want to show my dog → therefore I need a pet-class puppy → therefore it should cost less.”

These are two completely different things.

A puppy does not change its class because of the owner's plans.

If I see show potential in a puppy, it remains a show-potential puppy regardless of whether its future owner wants to show it.

You can buy an excellent, highly promising Xoloitzcuintli just for yourself.

You may never take that dog to a show.

You may simply enjoy your life together.

But that does not make the dog's potential any lower.

What are you actually paying for?

When you buy a show-class puppy, you are not paying for a promise that you will show the dog.

You are paying for the dog itself and the potential it has at the time of purchase.

If a puppy has beautiful structure, correct type, strong future show potential and the qualities I look for in dogs that may become part of a show or breeding program, its class does not become lower simply because the family decides not to show.

It is a little like buying a very good car and using it only to drive to the grocery store.

Its capabilities do not become smaller because you choose not to use them.

The same applies to a dog.

What if I actually want a show dog?

Then I recommend discussing this with me before reserving a puppy.

I see my puppies every day.

I watch how they grow and how their proportions, movement, head, ears, body and overall development change.

Because I know them from an early age, I can better evaluate which puppy I would personally like to see in the show ring as it matures.

If your goal is a show career, I will not simply show you a beautiful puppy.

I will help you choose a puppy specifically for that goal.

What if I don't want to show, but I want the best puppy I can get?

You can absolutely do that.

You do not have to show a dog simply because you purchased a show-potential puppy.

Many people want a beautiful, correctly structured dog with excellent breeding and strong potential, while having absolutely no interest in dog shows.

And that is perfectly fine.

You are buying a dog for your life.

My responsibility as a breeder is simply to evaluate the puppy honestly and determine its class independently of your plans.

And there is one more important thing

You may say today:

“I definitely don't want to show.”

But that does not mean you will feel the same way in three years.

Perhaps one day you will attend your first dog show just out of curiosity.

Perhaps you will enjoy it.

Perhaps you will decide to try.

Or perhaps you will not.

Either way, your dog will remain your beloved family member.

That is why I always recommend looking not only at what you plan to do today, but also at the puppy you are actually bringing into your life.

A puppy's class is determined by its quality and potential — not by the plans of its future owner.

You can buy a show-potential Xoloitzcuintli simply as a family companion.

And that dog does not become less beautiful, less promising or less valuable because you choose not to show.

You simply may never use all of the potential that was there from the beginning.

And that is perfectly okay.
